지금 작업하시는데 테러라고 하실수도 있겠지만...
전 아는 동생이 번역한 것으로 보내주어서 공유합니다.
1. 공동창업자를 조심해야했다.
- 능력보다는 신뢰할 수 있는 자와 함께하라
- 능력보다 감정적인 연대가 중요하다.
2. 모든일이 곧 생활이 되더라.
- 심지어 일이라고 느껴지지 않게된다.
- 일이 곧 생활이고 몰두해서 살아가게 된다.
3. 창업은 감정의 롤러코스터와 같았다.
- 모든 것이 준비했던 것보다 다이나믹하다(업 앤 다운)
(하루는 억만장자의 구글같아 보이다가 다음날은 완전한 패배인처럼 느껴진다.)
- 대부분의 창업자는 어려운 시기에 동료들에 동기부여 시키는 것이 가장 어려웠다고 한다.
- 죽지마라, 본인의 모티베이팅은 혼자서 할 수 밖에 없다.
(낙천적이고 긍정적인 마음가짐을 말하는 듯 합니다.)
- 모든 성공한 창업자는 과정에서 모두 실패했다.
4. 창업은 재미있다.
- 직원으로 일할 때보다 훨씬 자유롭고 창의적이며 도전적으로 일할 수 있다.
- 일하는 동안은 끔찍히 힘들다고 할 수 있다.
5. 성공의 핵심은 견뎌내는 것이다.(인내심)
- 컨트롤 할 수 없는 문제도 견디고 있으면 자연히 해결된다.
- 인내는 사고력과 정보를 앞선다.
- 인내력은 공동 창업자를 선정하는 중요한 기준이 된다.
6. 장기적인 시각
- 항상 본인의 예상보다 2-3배는 길다.
- VC나 대기업의 관료주의적 방식은 단기적인 성격으로 창업적 업무진행을 방해한다.
- 대부분의 창업자는 너무 자신감에 넘쳐서 단기 성공을 예상한다.
- 창업이라는 게임의 다른 이름은 인내이다. (대부분 3년에서 8년이다.)
- 장기적인 사고에서 스트레스를 덜 받고 재미를 찾으며 진정으로 일을 할 수 있다.
7. 너무 많은 사소한 것들
- 해커출신 창업자는 프로그래밍만 해서 망한다.
- 아이디어로 성공하지 않는다. 킬러 제품은 없다. 적어도 그것이 뭔지 알 수 없다.
- 가장 좋은 전략은 여러 다른 일들을 해보는 것이다.
- 당신의 달걀을 어느 바구니가 가장 좋은 바구니인지 알지라도 여러바구니에 담아라.(예상치 못하는 것들이 너무 많다.)
8. 무조건 작게 시작하라
- 작게 그리고 반복적으로 시작하라
- 간단한 것으로 시작하는 것이 사소하거나 의미없는 일을 하는 것은 아니다.
- 절대로 너무 고치려하지 마라. 많이 고친다고 더 좋아지는 것은 아니다.
9. 의사결정에 고객을 포함시켜라(마켓 드리븐)
- 초기 버전에 집착하지말고 고객의 소리를 들어라
- 고객은 우리가 보지 못하는 정보를 준다.
10. 아이디어를 수정하라(오픈 마인드)
- 창업자의 아이디어는 청사진이기보다 가설에 가깝다.
- 항상 수정할 준비를 하라
- 빠른 반복은 성공의 열쇠이다.
- 절대로 남의 의견을 비웃지마라
11. 경쟁자를 절대 걱정하지 마라.
- 내가 경쟁자라고 생각하는 회사는 경쟁자가 아닌 경우가 많다.(목적이 다름)
- 오히려 알지 못하는 곳에 같은 목적의 경쟁자가 많다.
12.고객을 얻기는 어렵더라.
- 제품이 나쁘지도, 광고노출이 적지도 않지만 고객은 모이지 않는다.
- 구글을 이용하는 것과 같은 입소문노출이 가장 좋다.
- 조금씩 늘려가고 조급해 하지 말아라.
- 제품자체의 매력보다 마케팅과 공동사업이 답이다.
13. 최악의 협상을 할 수밖에 없다.
- 창업자는 힘(자원)이 없어 협상에 이기기 힘들다.
- 펀딩조차도 쉽지 않다.
14. 투자자들을 알 수 없다.(그들도 알지 못한다.)
- 디바이스에 투자한 사람들이 제품을 켜지도 못한다.(무지)
- 엔젤은 VC보다 조금 낫지만 대부분은 VC들은 자기가 말하는 것의 반은 모르는 이야기고, 95%는 전문적이지 못하며
비전도 창의적이지 않다.
- 창업자에게 있어 투자자는 두려운 존재이기에 더욱 알수 없어진다.
- VC들은 직업이기 전문가적으로 보이도록 하는 것일 뿐이다.
15. 투자자와 게임을 해야한다.
- 투자자의 판단이 근거없더라도 그들에게 잘 팔리도록 노력해야한다.
- 대부분의 창업자들은 잘난척한다. 그런데 이것은 효과가 있다.
- 투자자는 LP에게 자신감을 보여야 하고, 창업자도 투자자에게 마찬가지이다.
16. 행운은 가장 중요한 요소더라.
- 창업자가 돈을 버는 가장 중요한 요소는 컨트롤할 수 없는 곳에 있고 행운이 있어야 한다.
- 대부분 창업자가 이야기하는 성공요소는, 제품기술, 결단, 그리고 행운이다. 그러므로 행운이 없으면 나머지를 가져도 결과는 제로이다.
17. 커뮤니티의 가치
- 실리콘밸리의 장점은 첨단기술과 창업정보를 공유하는 것이다.
- 별로 도우려 하지 않는 사람의 도움을 우연히 받게 되는 경우가 많다.
- 절적한 피드백을 줄사람이 주위에 있는 것은 강력하다.
- 이기려고 주위사람을 밟고 일어설 필요가 전혀 없다.
18. 자존심을 버려라
- 한 창업자는 자신이 MS에서 직원으로 일할 때가 더 위상이 높았다고 한다.
- 실재로 창업자의 95%정도가 허튼사람들인 경우가 창업자의 위상을 더욱 낮춘다.
- 특히 여성들에게 더욱 저평가받게 마련이다 ㅜ.ㅜ.(창업자들은 알지만 금새 잊는다;;;)
19. 당신이 성장하면서 상황은 스스로 변화했다.
- 당신이 성장하면 자질구레한 문제가 스스로 적어진다.
- 직원 동기부여도 훨씬 쉬워진다.
- 사업이 굴러가기 시작하면 75%의 스트레스가 사라지고 일이 재미있어진다.
- 적어도 75%이다.

창업을 하면, 상사 눈치도 안보고, 잔소리에서 해방될 수 있을 줄 알았습니다.
그런데, 정작 시작해보니, 제가 제 눈치를 보고, 제가 저에게 잔소리를 하게 되더군요. :'p
내년에는 운이 좀 따라주면 좋겠네요. :')
